Asa is a big Great Dane who had to have emergency surgery and be hospitalized after he began to have difficulty breathing. He had air and gas building up in his lungs from an unknown cause and surgery was necessary to completely deplete his lungs and repair them to prevent future episodes. He spent several nights in the hospital before being allowed to come home, but is now home and getting back to his happy, playful self.
