Home

Because we have only to look into the faces of our own beloved pets to know that all our furry friends deserve a forever home, the Bow Wow Buddies Foundation is dedicated to several efforts around helping pups find their people.

When they sign on, all Camp Bow Wow franchisees commit to fostering at least two dogs at a time. Additionally, franchisees are encouraged to partner with shelter and rescue organizations in their areas in additional efforts.

To date, the company and its franchisees have found homes for more than 1,000 dogs, and we look forward to making many thousands of new matches in the years to come.

National fundraising events including last year’s Woofstock and Cupids and Canines in February 2007 also enhanced our efforts, raising funds for local dog charities and the Humane Society of the United States. This year's event was even more successful.

Help at Home

Recently, our Camp Bow Wow franchisee in Temecula, Calif., let us know that the shelter she supports in her community, Animal Friends of the Valleys, had suffered a tragic fire that took the lives of 24 puppies and 15 cats. The blaze also destroyed the shelter’s cache of supplies including food, beds, blankets and toys.

The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation sent a $220 check to the shelter, as part of our ongoing efforts to support the causes our franchisees have committed to and to fulfill the foundation’s mission to improve the lives and health of dogs at home and abroad.

Terri Sassone, our Temecula franchisee, has supported Animal Friends of the Valleys since she opened last year. Like most of our franchisees, Terri has proven her commitment to caring for all dogs, from the most pampered campers to those truly in need. Since opening a year ago, her camp has found homes for 14 foster dogs, and Terri has raised funds for her area shelters whenever she could.

Now, she’ll continue collecting donations for the shelter as it struggles to rebuild. To find out more about this particular cause, including instructions for donating, go to www.animalfriendsofthevalleys.com.
